Meet Our Staff!

Dr. David Honold is board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He trained in Internal Medicine and in Gastroenterology at the Upstate Medical Center (now called Upstate Medical University) in Syracuse, NY. Dr. Honold has been an active advocate of colon cancer screening, and has vast experience in the management of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Dr. Amy Lazzarini is board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. She trained in Internal Medicine and in Gastroenterology at the Upstate Medical Center (now called Upstate Medical University) in Syracuse, NY. Dr. Lazzarini has given presentations for the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease. She has received an award for Outstanding Resident of the year in the out patient setting. She is licensed in New York State and the District of Columbia.

Dr. Mark Kasowitz is board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He trained in Internal Medicine at University of Maryland and in Gastroenterology at the Upstate Medical Center (now called Upstate Medical University) in Syracuse, NY. Dr. Kasowitz is recognized as an expert in the management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease, and lectures frequently on this topic.

Dr. Michael Sipple is board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He trained in Internal Medicine and in Gastroenterology at the SUNY Health Science Center (now called Upstate Medical University) in Syracuse, NY. Dr. Sipple has expertise in diseases of the biliary tract, treatment of malignant obstructions of the esophagus, and laser therapy of bleeding lesions in the GI tract.

Dr. Dennis Reedy is board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He trained in Internal Medicine at Albany Medical College in Albany, NY and in Gastroenterology at the SUNY Health Science Center (now called Upstate Medical University) in Syracuse, NY. Dr. Reedy’s areas of expertise include esophageal motility and management of diseases of the biliary tract.

Dr. David Kaplan is board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He was elected to Fellowship of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American College of Physicians. He Graduated in 1983 from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He completed his internship, residency and Fellowship at the SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse. He was head of the Endoscopy Unit and Associate Professor of Medicine at University Hospital. He continues to have an appointment as Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine. His special interests include new drug therapies for irritable bowel syndrome, liver and biliary disease (ERCP) and newer imaging techniques of the gastrointestinal tract (including endoscopic ultrasound). He also has extensive experience and interest in the management of inflammatory bowel disease. He has lectured all over the world on various gastrointestinal disorders.

Marie Harty, RN, ANP received her Adult Nurse Practitioner degree from Community General Hospital in Syracuse, NY. She has been with Syracuse Gastroenterological Associates since 1995. She is actively involved in research protocols for the treatment of Hepatitis C.

Vincent LoCoco, RPA-C received his degree as a Physician Assistant from Albany Medical College in Albany, NY. He has been with Syracuse Gastroenterological Associates since 1997. He actively participates in management of patients from the GERD Center.

Nancy Weiskotten, RN, MSEd, FNP-C received her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Community General Hospital in Syracuse, NY. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She has been with Syracuse Gastroenterological Associates since 1999. Nancy manages patient care in the Hamilton office and is a member of the Allied Professional Staff at Crouse Hospital.

Jeanie Fegley, RN, FNP received her family nurse practitioners degree from Community General Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y. She recently joined Syracuse Gastroenterological Associates, after working 4 years in the outpatient Gastrointestinal Clinic for Upstate Medical University. She had involvement in research protocols for treatment of Hepatitis C and GERD. Currently, Jeanie serves the Acute Care Patient practice at Crouse Hospital as well as Outpatient Management.
